Paint Fight and Tie Dye

St. Louis

Our community came out in August to tie dye, picnic and celebrate the end of summer at Vlasis Park. A great time was had by all. Our vibrant clothes and face masks will be on sale next month after we launch our new online gallery. Watch for our launch announcement soon.

Inside the sober arts community at Hope Creates

I fell for the romantic stereotype of the tortured, addicted artist, and that drugs, alcohol, and self-destructive tendencies make you more creative and your work better. They do not.

Thank you Debra Chandler Landis and St. Louis Magazine!

Open Studio

We have moved all our materials to a larger space at Medici MediaSpace and we are launching Open Studio. This is a new program that focuses more broadly on self-directed art projects in diverse media. Open Studio provides dedicated space for members to individually explore more deeply and frequently their favorite media and to work on individually directed art projects over a longer period of time, in a sober and creative community.

Open Studio is a work in progress, and our Creative Advisory Board has been collaborating to envision and transform this raw space into a functional and unique place for sober young adults to create.

A special thank you to all the volunteers who helped us move in September!

Patch It Montage

Patch It

St. Louis

In September we began experimenting with our Community Creation Events, asking our senior young adult members to lead us in their favorite media. In September, Logan F. and Jordan V. guided us in creating our own fanciful fashion. We took our old jeans and jackets and transformed them into works of art. We had 35 participants make more than 40 fabulous fashion statements.

A special thank you to Jerry Naunheim for donating his time and talent to taking photos of our session!
