Shibori Tie-Dye
We invite youth and adults in recovery from Substance Use Disorder (and their families) to join our vibrant creative community to laugh and play with us.
Shibori tie-dye is a fascinating fabric dyeing technique that creates vibrant, mesmerizing patterns. This technique involves folding, twisting, pleating, or crumpling fabric and binding it with string or rubber bands, then applying dye. The result is an array of colorful, often psychedelic patterns that are as unique as the methods used to create them. Shibori is a traditional Japanese dyeing technique that has been practiced for centuries. The term "shibori" encompasses several methods of resist dyeing, which include binding, stitching, folding, twisting, and compressing fabric.
