Mercy StepOne Service | Service Coordinator
Eleanor Byrd blends her passion for fostering meaningful connections with her expertise in facilitating warm hand-offs as the Service Coordinator for Mercy StepOne Service, a three-to-five-day inpatient medical stabilization program for adults. She actively serves on several boards dedicated to enhancing community collaboration and advancing behavioral health initiatives in St. Louis and Jefferson Counties in Missouri. As a Certified Peer Support and Harm Reduction Specialist, Eleanor is committed to empowering individuals facing barriers in their recovery journey and improving access to Substance Use Disorder treatment. She also trains first responders and service providers on best practices for assisting those in behavioral health crises. Eleanor uses her creative skills to enhance the visibility of non-profits through freelance graphic and web design services.
As a child, Eleanor expressed herself through singing, dancing, and creating, but those passions faded as she began to use illicit substances to cope with overwhelming emotions and experiences. She credits connection, art, and music as transformative elements in helping her find recovery at such a young age and fully supports Hope Creates' mission to inspire joy and healing through creative expression in a new way of life.
