Katherine Anne Thomas-Dietz

After completing her BFA at the University of Kansas, Kathie pursued her career as a graphic designer, creative manager and innovation consultant in her 29 years with FleishmanHillard. In 2013, she started Beyond Concepts, an innovation consultancy focused on business growth and transformation.

As a proud mother of five children, she sought assistance for her family and one of her daughters suffering from addiction. During her intense journey, she turned to the expressive arts of poetry, collage and photography that provided a sense of ease, beauty and hope. Hope Creates was born out of her belief that creating a sober, creative and celebratory community of artists and entrepreneurs could help youth and young adults recovering from addictions and provide support to their families.

Lisa Ober, PSA, IAPS/MC

Lisa’s career as a professional portrait and still life painter has spanned 30 years resulting in numerous awards and publication of her work. She is an owner of OA Gallery in Kirkwood, Missouri which showcases exceptional contemporary representational art. When not in her studio painting, Lisa travels the globe teaching pastel and oil painting workshops to other professionals and aspiring artists.

She adores art and artists and often helps others to navigate the business of art. Last year, she was one of the organizers of the 1st Marketing My Art workshop. Lisa’s involvement with Hope Creates stems from her enthusiastic belief that there is grand potential for success and transformation within creative young adults who are recovering from addiction.

Jesse Barash

Jesse has over 30 years of management and leadership experience in Consumer Packaged Goods Marketing with the majority of his career spent at Nestle Purina PetCare. He has worked in Brand Management, B2B Marketing and in Innovation. Jesse was the first Ideation Facilitator at Nestle Purina, and then started Zero Gravity Facilitation in 2011.

In addition to commercial work, Jesse volunteers at Children’s Hospital and donates his time to assist non-profit organizations by facilitating structured brainstorming sessions, post-event reviews and major meetings/workshops. Jesse decided to get involved with Hope Creates to utilize his skills in program development to support this great initiative targeted at recovering young people and their families.

Susan Shackelford-Davis

As Director of Wealth Management for KEB Asset Management, Susan has been helping clients’ solve their most challenging financial problems for over 30 years. Her more recent focus has been on assisting families, businesses and independent women obtain their most important objectives through a sound plan executed exquisitely with the help of a dedicated team of advisors.

Susan has experienced the transformative power of sobriety first hand. Her interest in Hope Creates is to help ensure this kind of success can be experienced by both the young people struggling with the disease of addition and their families. Also, Susan’s financial and organizational savvy will be leveraged to make Hope Creates a meaningful and viable non-profit organization and keep it running right.

Mark Witzling

As an artist, Mark has seen the positive impact that the visual arts can have on the human spirit. His oil paintings have been shown throughout the local community, nationally, and internationally. He is a member of Best of Missouri Hands and the St. Louis Artists Guild.

Mark also has an extensive business and brand marketing background with top tier companies such as Gillette, M&M Mars, and Purina, and is currently Senior Vice President, Marketing at Citibank. Mark brings his creative and artistic experience along with his marketing skills to Hope Creates because he believes in the mission of using the arts to improve the lives of people in our community.

Kate Gregor

Kate lives in High Ridge with her husband Matt and their adorable parakeet, Paco. She is a certified alcohol and drug abuse counselor who has more than 15 years of experience working with young people and families who struggle with substance use. Kate and her husband both work at The Crossroads Program, St. Louis’ top drug and alcohol rehab treatment center for teens and young adults.

She has been involved in nearly every level of substance abuse treatment, including inpatient, outpatient and residential facilities. Kate’s involvement in Hope Creates is born out of a desire to provide positive sober growth experiences for talented young adults recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. Her professional expertise is an important component of the Hope Creates Board.

Robert Bullivant

Robert is the owner of Bullivant Gallery and Consulting, a business he started 25 years ago to work with artists, photographers, museums and galleries. The Gallery creates and exhibits his work as well as that of many talented and internationally recognized artists. The Consultancy works with museums, cultural institutions and manufacturers to help them discover innovative solutions to their needs.

Over the years, he has supported a variety of nonprofit organizations that utilize art as a medium to encourage those with physical and emotional challenges. It is an honor for Robert to be part of Hope Create's important mission and to connect those in need with strategies that will help them achieve success and satisfaction in their personal and professional life goals.

Kimberly Peluso

After 25 years in retail management and being a small business owner, Kimberly founded KCP Images in 2015 to follow her passion for photography. Her work focuses on landscapes around the USA, including mountains, deserts, seascapes, valleys and forests. It was her passion for photography that drew her to Hope Creates.

As a photographer, Kimberly has always found that immersing herself in art was therapeutic in so many ways. She is devoted to instilling these benefits to the young people who are participating in Hope Creates. Further, as an entrepreneur, she is passionate about helping others learn how to create sustainable careers by effectively marketing their art.

Jill Butler

After working in advertising and marketing, Jill started a career in residential real estate working with Janet McAfee and Sotheby's. In 2012, she founded RedKey Realty Leaders, a residential real estate company dedicated to providing love and service to clients and the community through real estate. Jill's passion for Hope Creates is based on her own personal experience.

In her daughter's journey through addiction and recovery, she saw the healing that comes from sharing stories, hope and understanding. She also sees how art, creative expression and community supports healing. Jill is dedicated to building supportive and loving communities in business and life.

Patrice TenBroek

Patrice TenBroek has been a Realtor since 2001, specializing in commercial and multi-unit housing. From 1985-1995, Patrice was in the restaurant and catering business opening the first outdoor café in the Central West End. She also pioneered the sale of organically raised meat and poultry products through local food distributors to restaurants and country clubs in the late 1990’s when most people barely knew what organic meat was.

Patrice owns an art event space in the Carondelet Neighborhood. She joined the Hope Creates board to leverage her art and entrepreneurial background in an effort to support and inspire young adults to express their gifts and talents in a harmonious, loving and successful way.

Theresa Henry, MS, OTR/L, MPS

Theresa has 25 years of experience serving individuals with physical and mental health needs. Her primary interests are in adolescent mental health, with emphasis on facilitating successful return to productive life roles and community engagement, following substance abuse treatment. Theresa's personal experience as a parent of a young adult in recovery lead her to commit her personal and professional experience to developing comprehensive therapy supports for teens/young adults and families facing similar circumstances. Theresa's background in occupational therapy brings a bridge between the science of human occupation and the power of art. Theresa is excited to support young people in recovery as they develop life skills through their participation in Hope Creates. Hope Creates embodies many critical elements of successful re-engagement in life roles.

Bob Sherron

Bob is the Director of Technology at HLK, an audience-driven, performance-based, full-service digital agency in St. Louis. A fifteen-year veteran of the web development world, Bob brings marketing and technology skills to Hope Creates to help heal a community reeling from addiction and support those pursuing recovery.
